My refrigerator stopped cooling. Is it worth repairing?
Most no-cool refrigerator failures are worth repairing if the unit is under 10-12 years old. The most common causes, including start relay, condenser fan, and door gasket, are relatively inexpensive repairs. Compressor failure is the exception: on a unit over 10 years old, compressor replacement often approaches the cost of a new refrigerator. Ray gives you both numbers at the diagnostic visit.
